Bernard Brumberg " Georges
Moustaki "
Georges Moustaki (born May 3, 1934
in Alexandria), whose real name Giuseppe Mustacchi, is a
singer-songwriter French.

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, May 3, 1934, to Jewish parents of
Greek language, Judeo-Italian from the island of Corfu, he grew
up in a multicultural environment (Jewish, Greek, Turkish,
Italian, Arabic, French) and quickly developed a passion for
literature and French songs (including Edith Piaf).
Came to Paris in 1951, he works as a journalist, then as a
bartender in a piano bar, which leads to frequent musical
personalities of the time.
He intends to Georges Brassens occur
one evening and it is for him a revelation. He never stopped
thereafter to refer to his master, up to adopt his name in his
honor. In 1958, he met Edith Piaf, for whom he wrote one of his
most famous songs, my lord.
It will be a great lady with fiery relationship but short.
Throughout the 1960s, he positions himself as a composer,
lyricist for the great names of French chanson as
Yves Montand
, Barbara and especially
Serge Reggiani
.
He creates songs that remain among his greatest hits: Sarah,
My Solitude Joseph and My Freedom, or the long dark lady
interprets it as a duet with Barbara. His motto is: the man from
the dream.
In 1968, artist engaged at the time of the events of May 68, he
wrote, composed and performed the Métèque, a romantic ballad
that speaks of a foreigner a little ethereal dreamer,
unattached. It is a great international success which marks a
new beginning of his artistic career.
In January 1970 he made
his first big concert featured at Bobino. We then discover an
artist who prefers a warm, close with his audience.
During the next three decades, he traveled the world to produce
but also to find new inspirations.
